Marie claire hair awards 2026

We’ve Been Named Best Organic Brand at the 2026 Marie Claire Hair Awards

I started ADEM with a simple idea: begin something honestly, stay true to why you began, and let the rest follow. So I’ll be honest now. Being named Best Organic Brand at this year’s Marie Claire UK Hair Awards means a great deal to me.

The Hair Awards are no small thing. The judging panel reads like a roll call of the people who have shaped British hair for decades — Sam McKnight, Luke Hersheson, Samantha Cusick, Adam Reed, alongside trichologists, colourists and writers who have tried more products than most of us will touch in a lifetime. They put everything through its paces. Our category, Formula Pioneers, was the largest of the lot, which makes the win feel less like luck and more like the formula speaking for itself.

From a hazelnut farm to a Belgravia shelf

If you’ve followed ADEM for a while, you’ll know our story doesn’t begin in a lab. It begins on my family’s farm in Divaniturk, on Turkey’s Black Sea coast, where I spent my childhood planting, harvesting and pressing hazelnuts long before I ever picked up a pair of scissors.

That farm is still the heart of everything. Our hero ingredient — cold-pressed hazelnut oil, our liquid gold — is grown and pressed there, then finished here in Britain. It takes roughly two and a half kilos of hazelnuts to make a single litre of oil, which is part of why hazelnut oil has never been an everyday ingredient. It’s rich in oleic and linoleic acids, in vitamins A, B, D and E, and in the minerals the hair and skin quietly thrive on. I grew up watching what this super-nut could do. Bottling it for my clients was only ever a matter of time.

The judges singled out our organic credentials, and I’m glad they did, because that’s where we refuse to cut corners. Our formulas are 100% natural and cruelty-free, with no parabens, no sulphates and no SLS or SLES. The packaging is fully biodegradable. And because the oil comes from our own orchard, we can trace it from the tree to the bottle in your hand. In a market as crowded as this one, that traceability is the thing I’m proudest of.

What this means for us

ADEM means “breath” — a breath of fresh air, the living, plant-filled feeling of the salon, the idea that good hair care shouldn’t have to be complicated. An award like this doesn’t change the philosophy. It just tells me the philosophy is landing.

To everyone who has sat in our chair, ordered a bottle, or simply followed along from the beginning: thank you. This one belongs to the farm, to my family, and to you.
